Messolonghi Airport (LG01) landing and take off

The private airstrip of Messolonghi is located on the coast opposing the city and port of Patras. The airfield may be a convenient place to rest on your trip to Athens, the Gulf of Corinth or the Greek islands in the Aegean Sea.

Unfortunately, Messolonghi is not licensed as international airport. Even-though you may be arriving from another Schengen country it is imperative in Greece that you land first (or last on departure) at an international airport and only then you can fly to Messolonghi (or any other Greek domestic airport).

Messolonghi is a PPR airfield so you first need to phone the owner. However, he is a very nice person and obtaining my permit to land was no problem. You find the contacts on the internet. The video shows my approach over the sea to runway 07. Several interesting ex-military aircraft are located at the airfield for the military aviation enthusiasts.
