Aosta is a small commercial airport located in the valley of Aosta, to the South of Mont Blanc massif. The airport is suitable for the visit of the beautiful Mont Blanc and its breathtaking neighborhood. If you want to explore the area then I can sincerely recommend to do that from the Italian side which offers fewer restrictions than the French/Swiss side.

The airport of Aosta offers Avgas and reasonable landing charges. However, the local police corps are quite active so even when landing from another Schengen country you will get checked about as much as arriving from Libya.

Landings and take offs may be quite bumpy here given the fact that the airport is located in a deep valley and the winds are quite frequent. Another issue is the fact that just behind the end of runway 27 is located a military area which is activated at times. When it is so, you should better depart from runway 09. Thus you can gain enough altitude and fly above the restricted area. If you depart from runway 27, you will fly straight into the area…
