PhotoStories 2         Each of photographs has its own story. Especially the one you get from the plane. We offer  to you a new series of PhotoStories taken by the USA 2016 expediton. Today story of the Mississippi river in New Orleans photo.

Most of us have read stories by Mark Twain about life on the largest river of North America, the 3778 km long Mississippi. New Orleans itself has a great and interesting history and still very lively French and Spanish quarters reminding us of the colonial past. Many great jazz clubs just complete the picture.

To fly over the city and the river is not that easy given the fact that the commercial New Orleans Louis Armstrong airport is a very busy airport and its CTR includes a large part of the city. The second day of our expedition Around USA 2017 started at the former New Orleans main commercial airport – Lakefront which now serves general aviation.

Immediately after take off we requested the possibility to fly as close as possible to the centre of the city. The controller was sympathetic and we managed to make a video and several photos, including this one, of Mississippi river and New Orleans centre.
