This year's Aviation Fair, taking place on the weekend

This year's Aviation Fair, taking place on the weekend
of June 1 and 2, 2024 in Pardubice, will also present one big
premiere.

For the first time since the end of the
Second World War, legendary German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter
powered by an original Daimler Benz engine will appear in the Czech
skies, and to make matters even more intensive, Messerschmitt Me
262 Schwalbe jet will also perform in the program.

"We are very pleased we managed to
arrange the performance of Messerschmitt aircraft at the Aviation
Fair. Both types only fly on the European continent in a single
piece, and their operators understandably save such jewels and
consider participation in air shows accordingly. They have a large
number of invitations every year and can accommodate only a few
airshows. We appreciate the fact that this year Pardubice Aviation
Fair is among them," says Jan Rudzinskyj from the organizing
staff of the Aviation Fair and continues: "Each machine has a
different operator and their joint participation in an airshow is
quite exceptional. We have already seen the Me 262 Schwalbe jet,
operated by the Messerschmit Stiftung, in Pardubice in 2016. The
jet powere "Schwalbe" marked a significant qualitative
advance at the end of the Second World War and was the first
aircraft powered by jet engines used operationally in combat. Of
the more than fourteen hundred units produced, no flying example
has survived, and the unit on display is one of five built from
scratch in the United States at the turn of the millennium.

Just as the Spitfire is a symbol for
the British RAF, a Yak for the Soviet Air Force of that time, the
Me 109 is such an icon for the German Luftwaffe. The first versions
entered service shortly before the Second World War. During the war
years, it was gradually modernized and remained the standard
fighter aircraft of the Luftwaffe until May 1945. The aircraft that
will be presented at the Aviation Fair is the Bf 109G-14, the last
version of the so-called Gustavs powered by Daimler Benz DB605
engines. Only one example is flying with this engine today, and it
will be presented at the Aviation Fair. The exhibited piece from
the German Hangar 10 collection was first flown in July 2018 after
a demanding reconstruction," adds Jan Rudzinskyj.

The Pardubice Aviation Fair is regularly a place where the

The Pardubice Aviation Fair is regularly a place where the
Army of the Czech Republic presents itself.

And 32 year of the Aviation Fair,
taking place on the weekend of June 1 and 2, 2024 in Pardubice
won`t be an exception. Soldiers will perform for visitors both days
in static demonstrations and, of course, in the flight
program.

"The Aviation Fair is regularly
held at the military airport in Pardubice, so it is not surprising
that excellent cooperation with the Army of the Czech Republic
works both during the organization and during static and flight
demonstrations. This has been the case since 1991, and we are
continuing our cooperation this year as well," says Jan
Rudzinskyj from the organizing staff of the Aviation Fair.
"The Army of the Czech Republic will have an extensive
presentation as part of the ground program, where, in addition to
planes and helicopters from individual air bases, equipment from
ground troops, as well as military firefighters from the Pardubice
airport, will be presented. Children competitions included in the
rich Children's Day program will also be part of the ground
presentation.

Of course, the soldiers will also
present themselves in the flight program. Without a doubt, the
largest military aircraft will be the CASA 295 twin-engine
transport machine from Kbely Air Base. Accompanied by a pair of
quick reaction alert JAS-39C Gripens, it will perform the opening
flight. After the fly-by, the Gripens will separate and CASA will
perform a paratrooper drop and then land at the Pardubice airport.
During the day, visitors will be able to visit the interior of this
aircraft. Airshow visitors traditionally expect a solo display of
the Gripen aircraft from the Čáslav base. It will not be missing
this year either. Ondřej Španko will perform with Gripen in the
skies of Pardubice. His display was already very dynamic last year,
and according to available reports, he modified and added some
elements to his display for this year. We have a lot to look
forward to, and visitors will certainly not be disappointed by the
demonstration of the L-159 Alca aircraft. This machine is a product
of Aero Vodochody, and it will present its newest product as well,
the L-39NG training machine, at the premiere in the skies of
Pardubice. It will be presented in the block of the Pardubice
Aviation Training Center together with the long-proven L-39C
Albatros. Aviation Fair spectators will thus be able to see a kind
of generations exchange, because the L-39NG aircraft will soon
expand the fleet of aircraft at the Pardubice CLV," adds Jan
Rudzinskyj.

Air forces of foreign countries are not often represented in

This year, however, visitors to the
32 Aviation Fair, which will take place on the weekend of June
1 and 2, 2024 in Pardubice, can look forward to a very dynamic
demonstration of the Slovenian Air Force's Pilatus PC-9
training turboprop.

"Concepts of military pilots
training are different from one country to another. Some use modern
turboprop machines for training, but in Slovenia, for an example,
Swiss-made Pilatus PC-9M is the main type of the air force,"
says Jan Rudzinskyj from the organizing staff of the Aviatické puti
and continues: "Looking at the two-seater Pilatus powered by a
powerful turboprop engine, we don't even realize , that it`s
already forty years since the maiden flight of the PC-9
prototype.

During the flight demonstration itself,
its elegant outline is combined with the dynamics of the display,
and it should be mentioned that the Slovenian air force pilot
Andrej Fiorelli is perfectly at ease with the aircraft. His flight
demonstration is real acrobatics, one we would not even expect from
a military training machine. The pilot shows very good
maneuverability of the machine and dynamically changes horizontal
elements with vertical ones, literally disappearing in sky. It is
no wonder that a demonstration of the Slovenian Pilatus rightly won
an award at the prestigious RIAT air show in Britain a few years
ago. Therefore, we are very pleased with the command of the
Slovenian Air Force attitude towards us and we are extremely
pleased that it has also included the Aviation Fair in its calendar
of flight demonstrations. It will be the Pardubice premiere not
only of this flight performance, but also of the Pilatus PC-9 type
itself, if I'm not mistaken," adds Jan Rudzinskyj.

One of the most crowd-pleasing performances at each airshow

One of the most crowd-pleasing performances at each airshow
is the group acrobatics.

It will not be missing from the program of this year's
32 Aviation Fair, taking place on the weekend of June 1and 2,
2024 in Pardubice. Well known aerobatic group Flying Bulls
Aerobatics Team, flying four Xtreme Air XA42 propeller driven
aerobatic specials, will perform for the audience in the skies of
Pardubice.

"These two-seaters are closely linked to the latest
stage in the group's history, and it is a rich history indeed.
Its beginnings date back to 1960, when the first group, later known
as the Chrudim quartet, was born at the Chrudim airport under the
leadership of Jiří Tlustý, admired by spectators at air shows both
in Czechoslovakia and abroad," says aviation publicist Petr
Kolmann.

"The times in the 1980s were not kind to group flying.
Fortunately, the 1990s came and the group acquired Zlin Z-50LX
aircraft and set up a precise performance with them, which was
subsequently admired by audiences in many countries around the
world. The group was based in Chrudim for a long time, so it was
close to Pardubice, but the mutual connection between the group and
the Aviation Fair was certainly not only due to a short distance
between the airfields, but also thanks to friendly relations. In
addition, the audience cannot imagine the Aviation Fair without
this amazingly coordinated group. They are a regular star of the
program and have only been absent three times in its history due to
performing far abroad. The group has been based in Jaroměř for over
two decades and in recent years has been flying the new Xtreme Air
XA42 aerobatic specials.

However, the term new is a bit misleading. While the
machines literally look brand new, the fact is that this year marks
exactly ten years since the Flying Bulls Aerobatics Team began
flying them. And it comes without a question, the new machines had
their public premiere at the Aviation Fair. In 2014, the group
presented themselves in Pardubice with six airpalnes. On the one
hand, four flew on Z-50LX airplanes, and the new duo Stanislav
Čejka and Jan Rudzinskyj presented themselves on a pair of new
machines. They still fly in the group, and the quartet is completed
by Jan Tvrdík and Martin Špaček. The group regularly changes its
line-up slightly and prepares something new for the audience every
year, so I assume that we have something to look forward to this
year as well," adds Petr Kolmann.

The Aviation Fair is a traditional all-day program for the
whole family. On Saturday and Sunday, there is also a rich ground
program with a number of performances and activities for both
children and adults. The flight program itself will last over five

This trend will continue in the 32 year, taking place
on the weekend of June 1 and 2, 2024 in Pardubice. One of the
displays will be dedicated to the battles of the First World War,
110 anniversary of which we will remember this year. In
addition to well-known machines, aircraft from the Aviation Fair
Squadron will also perform for the first time in the
demonstration.

"In 2001, Jiří Šubrt organized the first humble scene
from the First World War period with a group of soldiers in
historic uniforms and a pair of ultralight planes. It came about
quite spontaneously back then and was flown without any script.
Such a form of demonstration was a success with the audience, and
everything was perfected in the following years. Today, we can no
longer imagine the program of Aviation Fair without composite
scenes," says Jan Rudzinskyj from the organizing staff of the
Aviation Fair.

"This year's demonstration, machines from the
Metoděj Vlach Foundation Fund from Mladá Boleslav will perform
again, and aircraft from the new Aviation Fair Squadron will have
their premiere in the composite demonstration. These are machines
of the ultralight category, built to mimic machines of the period.
The Aviation Fair squadron currently has three aircraft for this
purpose. A Nieuport 11, already known to the spectators of the
Aviation Fairs from the previous years, and the Aviation Fair
Squadron has been operating it since the end of 2019. It is easy to
remember for the audience thanks to its red fuselage color. The
famous French pilot Jean Navarre flew in similarly painted machine
less than a century ago. Another machine is the Austro-Hungarian
fighter biplane Aviatik Berg D.I and the third piece is the
Morane-Saulnier MS.139 powered by a Verner nine-cylinder radial
engine. The planes have their new home at the airport in
Kunětice," adds Jan Rudzinskyj.

General Stanislav Čeček came up with the idea

General Stanislav Čeček came up with the idea
of introducing a sidearm weapon for officers and sergeants of the
Czechoslovak Air Force in 1925.

At that time, in addition to his position as
the head of the Military Office of the President of the Republic,
he was also the head of the Third Department (Aviation) of the
Ministry of National Defence. The sabre had already been introduced
in the army for officers, but it was not suitable for airmen. It
was therefore decided to create a shorter sword for them.

The final form of the weapon was the work of
architect Mr. Sucharda. By the Bulletin of the Ministry of National
Defence of 28 November 1925, this sidearm was introduced under the
Czech designation „Kordík“.

The original Bulletin further prescribes:
"All field pilots, field observers and air gunners appointed
by the MNO Bulletin with the rank of not less than sergeant-major

We have become accustomed to the fact that the regular
participants of the Aviation Fair also include historical machines
from the Austrian Hangar 7 collection.

We will continue this tradition this year and in the flight
program of the 32 edition of the Aviation Fair, which will
take place on the weekend of 1 and 2 June 2024 in
Pardubice, where historical gems with characteristic bulls on their
sides will once again be presented to the audience.

We have been encountering aircraft with characteristic red
bulls at the Aviation Fairs for almost a quarter of a century,
during which time we have seen many interesting performances in the
skies of Pardubice. Recently, the newly operated aircraft in the
collection of Hangar 7 in Salzburg have been given a colour scheme
in which the bulls are no longer red and their shade is matched to
the overall colour. Similar scheme was adopted for the new T-28B
Trojan aircraft, which will be presented for the first time at this
year's Aviation Fair" says Jan Rudzinskyj from the
Aviation Fair Organizing Staff.

"Not only it will be its Czech premiere in the new
colours, but also one of the first performances in Europe. The
demonstrated Trojan aircraft was produced in 1955 as one of less
than five hundred units of more powerful naval version of the
T-28B. In total, less than two thousand Trojans of all versions
were produced. Prior to being acquired for The Flying Bulls, this
particular Trojan had served in four military air forces and with
several private operators. It also participated in the wars over
Vietnam and Laos.

At the beginning of this year, the Trojan was given a
flattering color scheme in a white and blue combination. You will
be able to see for yourself how such colouring will look like in
the skies of Pardubice on the weekend of 1 and 2 of
June," adds Jan Rudzinskyj.

The Aviation Fair is a traditional all-day program for the
whole family. On Saturday and Sunday, there is also a rich ground
program with a number of presentations and activities for children
and adults. The flight program itself will last over five
hours.

A historic RAF camp on the Aviation Fair

The main and the most popular content
of the Aviation Fair is always the flying program.

The main and the most popular content
of the Aviation Fair is always the flying program.

That will be the case this year as
well, as a five-hour flight program is prepared for the visitors of
the 32annual Aviation Fair, which will take place on the weekend of
June 1 and 2, 2024 in Pardubice. Of course, it will be quite
lively throughout the day on the ground as well, where a galore of
activities is prepared for visitors of all ages.

History buffs will surely enjoy the
British RAF World War II field camp. "In our program, since
the beginning in 1991, we have been trying to commemorate aviation
history. In earlier years, the Aviation Fair was also visited by
numerous Czech pilots who fought in the Second World War in the
ranks of British RAF. Sadly, time cannot be stopped and
none of these heroes are among us today, we miss their aviation
stories, but we do not forget their legacy. Fortunately, there are
a number of enthusiasts who honor their memory in historic uniforms
and bring history, uniforms and procedures to today's
generation.

“We are happy these people are a
regular part of the Aviation Fair, and this year will not be an
exception," says Jan Rudzinskyj from the organizing staff of
the Aviation Fair. "The main focus of the military history
clubs ground display will be the historic RAF airfield camp. In our
minds, we will be transported in time to England in the first half
of the 1940s. But not only that, enthusiasts in period uniforms are
always available to answer all kinds of questions and we know from
experience that visitors like to take advantage of this.

Enthusiasts will also perform a
contemporary pre-flight briefing. Seeing the pilots and their
commanding officers with your own eyes during such an event is
truly an extraordinary experience. Of course, the historic camp
also includes airplanes, so in addition to uniforms, vehicles,
weapons and equipment, visitors will also see several airplanes
with so-called peacock eyes - slang name for the British markings.
Statically displayed aircraft will be part of the historic camp. We
will see how many will arrive, but we have already confirmed the
North American AT6C Harvard Mk.2 and Boeing B 75N1 Kaydet biplane
will arrive from the Pilsen Association of Classic Trainers,"
adds Jan Rudzinskyj.
